Introducing Atlas: build a live list of the companies you want as clients
4 min read
Every recruitment firm I have worked with has the same spreadsheet. Someone built it on a Monday with fifty companies worth approaching, and by the third week nobody opens it. The funding round in column D happened in March. The hiring manager left in June. The tab is still there, and it is quietly wrong.
That spreadsheet is usually the only place your target market exists. We built Atlas because it deserves better than a file that rots.
What Atlas is
Atlas is a living list of the companies you want as clients. You describe them in a sentence, or upload the list you already have, and Cleyo builds the table. From there you add a column for any question you want answered about every company on it.
Not a filter. A question, in your own words:
- Are they hiring right now, and for what?
- What happened at this company in the last month?
- Is this a good quarter to reach out, and why?
- Which competitors do they lose talent to?
Each row answers for itself. Forty companies, forty specific answers, side by side in a table you can sort and scan. It takes a couple of minutes rather than the afternoon your researcher would spend, and it does not go stale in a drawer because you can ask again whenever you want.
Then the people inside them
A list of companies is half a list. Atlas pulls out the decision makers at each one, the people who actually sign off on hiring, with the contact details you need to reach them. No exporting to a second tool and matching rows by hand.
And then the campaign
When the list looks right, it goes into a campaign in one step. The research you already paid for comes with it: the news column, the hiring column, the reason this company is worth writing to becomes the line that opens your email. That is the part most tools leave to you, and it is the part that decides whether anybody replies.
Why we built it this way
Business development in recruitment is not a volume problem. Most firms can send more email tomorrow. It is a relevance problem: the difference between a message that names something true about a company this month and one that could have been sent to anybody in the sector.
Atlas exists to make the relevant version the easy one. The research sits next to the list, the list becomes the campaign, and the thing you knew about a company on Tuesday is still in the message that goes out on Thursday.
Who it is for
If you run a desk, a team or a firm and your target client list currently lives in a spreadsheet, a CRM nobody updates, or somebody's head, this is for you. It is most useful when you have a clear idea of the companies you want and no good way to keep track of what is happening inside them.
Getting started
Atlas is available to every Cleyo account today. Open Atlas in the sidebar, describe the companies you are after or upload the list you have, and add your first column. Start with one question you would normally ask a researcher, and see what comes back.
