FAQ

Ask about Cleyo.

Everything we get asked is below. Anything else, ask your own assistant.

The basics

What is Cleyo?

A business development platform for recruitment agencies. It watches for buying signals across companies in your market, keeps the ones worth writing to in live research lists, finds the decision makers behind them, runs multi-step email and social outreach, and sorts the replies into one inbox.

Who is Cleyo for?

Recruitment agencies and in-house recruitment teams doing outbound business development. It is built around a recruiter's day rather than a sales team's, which is why everything starts from a signal rather than from a list of companies.

Is Cleyo an ATS?

No. Cleyo is the business development layer that sits in front of one, and it integrates with your ATS rather than replacing it. Loxo is connected with two-way sync.

How is this different from a contact database?

A database sells you a list and leaves the timing to you. Cleyo starts from live evidence that something has changed at a company, then finds the people worth writing to there, so the reason to reach out comes before the contact does.

Do I need to change how my team works?

No. Cleyo sends from the mailbox and social account your team already uses, and the replies land in the same inbox they always did, plus a unified one inside Cleyo.

Finding companies and people

What signals does Cleyo watch?

Open roles and how long the oldest one has run, funding rounds, headcount growth, company news, new markets and offices, leadership changes, tech stack moves and buying intent. Hiring is the loudest of them, not the only one: a company that raised last month is worth writing to before the first role is even posted.

What can I search on?

Job title, seniority, city or region, HQ country, industry, headcount, funding stage, total raised, revenue, buying intent, how recently a role was posted, remote or hybrid, tech stack, and whether the company is a Y Combinator alum. You can also just describe what you want in plain English.

What is an atlas?

A living list of companies you care about. You start it from a search, an import or a handful of names, and it stays as a working surface rather than a result you have to run again. New matches keep arriving in it.

What can a research column do?

Anything you would otherwise open ten tabs to answer: latest news, open roles, headcount trend, competitors, an opening line, or your own question in plain English. Cleyo answers it for every company in the list at once.

Where do the research answers come from?

Live web sources, job boards and verified business data. Every answer is written back with the source it was based on, so you can check any cell rather than taking it on trust.

Does the research go stale?

Refresh a column whenever you want the current answer. Each preset has its own sensible staleness window, so a funding answer is not treated as fresh for as long as a company description.

How do I find the right person at a company?

Pull decision makers straight into the table. Cleyo finds the people whose roles match what you are selling into, with verified email addresses, without you leaving the list.

Are the email addresses verified?

Yes. Contacts are enriched with verified business email addresses, and a contact that cannot be verified is not presented as if it could.

Campaigns and sending

Which channels does Cleyo send on?

Email and social, in a single sequence. A campaign can open with a connection request, follow with an email, and come back on whichever channel is still open.

Whose mailbox does it send from?

Yours. You connect Gmail or Microsoft 365 and messages go out from that account, so they land the way your own mail does rather than from a shared sending domain.

Does Cleyo write the messages?

It drafts them from the research already on the company, in your voice, and you approve them. The point of the research is that the first line can be about them rather than about you.

What happens when someone replies?

The sequence pauses for that person automatically, and the reply lands in the unified inbox sorted by AI. Nobody gets a follow-up asking whether they saw the last message after they have already answered it.

Can the same company be contacted twice by two of my consultants?

No. Every campaign respects your Do-Not-Contact list and the history already on the record, which is shared across the whole team.

How does Cleyo avoid sending too much?

Sends are paced and capped per account, per channel and per day, inside your own working hours and working days. The limits are yours to set, and the sender holds to them even when a burst of work is queued at once.

Does the Reply Agent send on my behalf?

No. It drafts every response in your voice, grounded in the playbook you wrote once, and it never sends on its own.

Meetings and pipeline

What does the AI Notetaker do?

It joins your video calls as a named participant, records them, and writes up the summary, the decisions and the action items with owners. It only joins meetings your connected account is actually part of.

Which meeting tools does it support?

Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, with Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar for scheduling.

Do I have to keep the CRM up to date?

No. Emails, replies and opens land on the contact by themselves, and Smart Lists build themselves from a rule you set once. One timeline per contact holds the companies, people, sequences and replies together.

Pricing and credits

What does Cleyo cost?

One per-seat plan in two sizes, in EUR, billed monthly or yearly. Growth is €99 per seat per month, or €84 billed yearly. Agency is €199 per seat per month, or €169 billed yearly.

What is the difference between the plans?

Credits and seats. Every plan carries every feature, so you are never buying back functionality that was withheld to make a ladder.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 14 days with 500 credits and no card required. That is enough to run a real campaign rather than click around an empty account.

What are credits spent on?

Search results, decision makers, research columns and enrichment. Each preset column tells you its price before it runs, so nothing is spent on a shape of answer you have not seen.

Do credits roll over?

No. Each billing cycle starts with a fresh balance.

Can I cancel?

Yes, whenever. There is no notice period.

Data, privacy and security

Is Cleyo GDPR compliant?

Cleyo is built for GDPR from the start: minimum collection, encryption of what is stored, audit logging, and export and deletion on request. The Trust Center sets out where data lives, what Cleyo can access, the sub-processors involved and how long anything is kept.

What can Cleyo access in my mailbox?

What it needs to send your campaigns and match replies to them. The Trust Center lists the exact scopes, and access can be revoked from your side at any time by disconnecting the account.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your data is processed to produce your results, not to train a model for anybody else. AI processing is described in full in the Trust Center.

Can I export or delete everything?

Yes. Export and deletion cover every record, including historical ones from features that have since been retired.

Getting started

How do I start?

On a 14-day free trial with 500 credits and no card required. That is enough to build a list, research it and run a real campaign, rather than click around an empty account.

How long does setup take?

Minutes. Connect a mailbox, connect your social channel, describe the companies you want, and the first list is there before you have finished making coffee.

Do you offer a demo?

Yes. Book one and we will walk through Cleyo with your own market rather than a sample account.

Who answers when I write to support?

A person on the team that builds it. Cleyo is made by a team working across an HQ in London and dev offices in Czechia, with more than 25 years in recruitment between them.

Is there a Chrome extension?

Yes. It lets you run the social steps of a campaign from your browser, on your own account.
